Power operation Prolid sectional overhead doors
Power operation for the Prolid door? It goes without saying for most customers – more than 80% of all Prolid doors are supplied with power operation. With reduced thermal leakage, higher productivity, a better working environment for users and truck drivers, and a longer service life for the door, you can expect to recoup your investment even if you open your door only a few times a day.
Motors and control systems of the highest quality
Motors and control systems for the Prolid door are made in Germany by GFA, Europe's largest and leading manufacturer. These components are intended for heavy industrial use and are tested together with the Prolid door for more than 1,000,000 opening cycles according to EN12605. Prolid doors of all sizes can be equipped with motor operation. Note that all doors supplied by Prido are dimensioned as a minimum to cope with wind load class 3 (hurricane winds of 33 m/s).
Motor alternatives
Motors are always shaft-mounted directly on the torsion spring shaft as a means of balancing the weight of the door. A solution with a variable-speed motor for more rapid opening/closing is available as an alternative in doors with a weight of less than 300 kilograms.
Control options
All control systems are supplied as standard with impulse control via a push-button keypad on the control cabinet. Other supplementary solutions include external push-button keypads with open, stop and close functions or more sophisticated solutions including radio control, radar, automatic closing, coded locking, card reader, pull cord, buried loop detector and security interlock functions. In addition, the control system includes a range of functions to facilitate its operation for users, installers and service technicians, such as fault memory, digital programming of limit positions, service indicator, opening cycle counter, etc. Programming is simple and is done by means of menus accessed via a push and turn knob in the control box.
Safety
Our power-operated doors naturally meet all the applicable safety requirements and standards. The doors are designed from the outset to eliminate all risk of pinching and are fully convertible to power operation without extra protection. Optical anti-pinching strips are integrated into the sealing rubber strip on the closing edge of the door. Depending on the application and the position, doors can also be provided with extra safety photocells positioned in the door opening. As standard a force limitation system detects whether the door is running heavier during opening. For example if someone is trying to "ride up" with the door. Doors are CE marked and tested under the Construction Products Directive, the Machinery Directive, the Low Voltage Directive and the EMC Directive.
