Environmental work:
The company's environmental policy can be read on the web site. Regular follow-ups are done, and the company is certified under ISO 14001.
The product:
Ecolid doors are folding door with process laminated sandwich design. The framework consists of aluminium profiles with steel reinforcements. The frame is filled with isocyanates and polyol, which react to form polyurethane insulation. Insides and outsides are made of hot-dip galvanised sheet steel. The product is manufactured at the head office in Tråvad, just outside Vara in Southern Sweden. The service life of the door is estimated to be 25 years. This service life applies on condition that the product is used in the conditions for which it was intended. Major damage to the paint coating, and damage to the underlying galvanization layer should be repaired. Apart from this, the only maintenance needed is specified in the maintenance instructions in the door's user manual.
Content declaration
The table below contains information about the materials used in Ecolid doors. Doors are tailor-made to suit customer requirements, so door thickness varies. The table shows the contents of the most common design - 4000 mm x 4000 mm with one row of windows and an entry door.

Information about the environmental performance of the product is subdivided into a manufacturing component and a use component.
Production:

Contamination discharge: No measurable discharge occurs. |
| Hazardous waste: azardous waste: A small amount of spillage occurs when the polyol and isocyanate machine is cleaned. This is sent to Sakab for destruction. An average of about 200 kg per year has been amassed, compared with the 105 tonnes of raw materials used in production. |
Other waste: Waste products in the form of cutouts occur in production. They are not classified as hazardous waste, and can be put in a landfill without restrictions, or used as ground insulation. |

Use:
| Transport: Finished doors are exclusively transported to the customer by road. |
Packaging: Packaging consists of a stand or wood crate. Stands consist of a wood pallet with metal or wood vertical supports. The doors are wrapped with steel straps, plastic film and expanded polystyrene battens. |
| Installation: Doors are tailor-made to suit customer requirements. Installation requires a ladder, scaffolding and in some cases, a lifting table or crane, plus hand tools such as an electric drill and nut runner. |

Recycling declaration
| Disassembly: The polyurethane plastic foam can be cut away from the surrounding components. Other sub-components can then be disassembled by hand.. |
Recycling: The metal can be recycled: Wood and rubber residues can be recycled for their energy content. Plastic foam waste can be put in a land fill without restrictions (can not be composted). Adhesive residue can be incinerated / put in a land fill. |
